Jack was ten years old when he died in the horrific fire at the Iroquois theater in Chicago. His mother had died only six months before. He was attending the matinee with his cousins, Miss Tessie Bissinger and Walter Bissinger. Of the three, only Tessie Bissinger made it out safely.
