OTHER NOTES:

Medical student at the University of Chicago; home at Terry, South Dakota.
"It as learned that several fellow students, amongst them Vernard Hodges, a boyhood friend from Lead, knew that Fred had gone to the theatre that afternoon, and as soon as they heard of the dire calamity they set out to hunt for him and at last found his body in one of the city morgues. Though somewhat burned about the face and hands the remains were at once identified by the clothing Fred had worn, and the identification was later made positive by marks upon the body and letters found in the pockets."
"He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Leaton, and besides the heartbroken parents leaves two brothers, Emert and John, a double cousin, Miss Leaton, and his fiancé, Miss Effie Blatchford, to mourn his tragic and untimely end."
