Iroquois Theatre Fire Historical Society Launches New Website

December 2, 2023

Arlington Heights, IL. The Iroquois Theatre Fire Historical Society (ITFHS), dedicated to keeping the memory alive of the disaster, victims, survivors, heroes, and anyone affected by the tragedy, is pleased to announce the launch of its new memorial website www.iroquoistheatrefire.org. The website was set up in anticipation of the 120th anniversary of the fire on December 30, 2023.

The site features a description of the Iroquois Theatre Fire disaster and an interactive database of victims, survivors, responders, and others affected by the fire.  Every individual has a dedicated page with demographic information as well as images and stories.  Family members and descendants of the victims and participants are encouraged to contribute to the Person Pages as a way to honor their ancestors.

“In a building that had been heralded as “fireproof,” over 600 people, many of of them women and children, lost their lives.” said Caron Primas Brennan, Executive Director. “Every one of the 2000 attendees and their families, as well as the responders, were affected by the disaster.”

ITFHS invites visitors to explore the new website to learn the history of the disaster. Navigate the searchable index to find individuals and their specific pages which detail linked relationships and individual stories.
